‘Sexting' is the sending of provocative or sexually explicit photos, messages or videos usually by mobile phone. These images can also end up online on sites such as Facebook or YouTube. While seemingly innocent or flirtatious, sexting can have serious social and legal consequences for children.
The Federal Government's Cybersmart program offers brochures for parents on sexting and how to manage it. The brochures are also available in Arabic, Chinese, Greek, Italian and Vietnamese, and can be ordered free online or by calling 1800 880 176. More info: http://bit.ly/iIVXHB
