The Warren Central School library is named in memory of Mrs Elizabeth Mills; past student, parent and dedicated, much loved teacher at Warren Central School. Our library is a modern, enticing space filled with resources that support and enrich the teaching and learning that occurs within the school. With funding from the Federal Government's BER program (Building the Education Revolution), the library has become a 21st century learning and information centre, offering a range of literacy and technology resources.
Opening Hours
The library is open Monday to Thursday from 8.30am until classes commence, then during lunch and for a short period after school.
Weekly Book Borrowing Limits
- K - 2: 1 book
- Years 3 - 6: 2 books
- Years 7 - 10: 3 books
- Years 11 and 12: 6 books
We encourage the use of library bags for all students as it is easier for them to keep track of their books and it also protects the books from damage. All children in Kindergarten to Year 2 must have a bag to be able to borrow.
Overdue Books
When a student has an overdue book they are unable to borrow until they have either returned the book or reimbursed the library for the cost of the book. If your child is in this position, please contact our Teacher Librarian, Mrs Narelle Whittaker.
Library Class Times
All students from K-6 have a weekly library class and students from year 7, a fortnightly class. During this time we strongly encourage all children to borrow. We have a huge selection of both non fiction and fiction books from which to select.
